The previous translation project ended in August 2006, with the publication of Book 4. The translation history of the Traditional Chinese version has seen two phases. Joc de trons lacks the two original maps of Westeros, which don't appear until Xoc de reis. A renewed attempt at a Catalan translation was restarted in 2011, continuing through all five novels. The first Catalan translation in 2006 split the first book into two parts, but only the first part was published, under the title La Mà del Rei (The King's Hand).
